\u201cI\u2019m glad it went well,\u201d he said. \u201cWe always wanted this to be your choice, Jared. You don\u2019t owe anyone an apology.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI just didn\u2019t want you to think I was looking for something better,\u201d I said. \u201cYou gave me an amazing life. I love you both.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

My mom reached across the table and held my hand. \u201cWe know. And we love you. This doesn\u2019t change that. You\u2019ve always had room for more love.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That stuck with me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I still don\u2019t know when or how the next part will happen. It will be the moment my biological and adoptive parents are in the same room. They\u2019ve met before, back when I was a baby, but never like this. Never as adults, sitting down together, talking about me as a person instead of as a name on paper.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That day will come. And when it does, I believe it will be something beautiful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Finding Serena and Edward wasn\u2019t easy. It was emotionally exhausting and filled with fear, guilt, and hope. But I\u2019m so glad I did it. Their reactions, the hugs, the tears, the stories, and the memories they still held onto made it all worth it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sometimes I still can\u2019t believe it happened. That I found them. That they turned out to be kind, loving people who never stopped thinking about me. I know not everyone gets that kind of reunion, and I don\u2019t take it for granted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
